Jesus Married
HAYDEN CORWIN

Mary plays with the children
  alone.

They roll along the lawn
imitating bugs and
   laughing at absolutely everything.

The grass is long where
worms burrow up,
and bumble bees take a moment
   to sunbathe on Mary’s tulips.

She shows the kids how to
  somersault through the sprinkler
before resting
in the shade of a cottonwood tree.

It’s been a warm summer,
it’s nice to take a rest.

Hayden Corwin is a poet living in Phoenix. He is currently working on his debut poetry collection Sin Organic.
